The future of remote work in 2030!

The way we work is changing whether we like it or not and remote work will continue to rise!

As the next generation of workers rise through the ranks, we will see a continuous evolution in workplace attitudes, especially related to remote working opportunities.

By 2030 it is predicted that there will be 255 million remote workers globally and this number will continue to rise.

This will mean that any job that can be done remotely will be available to an employee and in most cases, companies will prefer it.

This is not a sudden change but has been creeping up on us for a while.

Think of the way we now communicate compared to 20 years ago. The digital age has propelled us into a new way to socially interact and now it has a strong hold on the way we professionally interact.

Let’s look at the top 10 work predictions for 2030:

  1. Increase in global talent opportunity.
  2. Remote companies will dominate and attract the best employees. (Twitter is an excellent example here.)
  • Massive savings in office leasing and purchasing.
  • Increase in rural living due to the ability to work anywhere.
  • Some demographics will reject remote work and it will be at their peril.
  • Companies that evolve to remote work will thrive and those that don’t evolve will die. Just think KODAK and the digital evolution).
  • One car household will increase.
  • Death of the coworking companies (think email cafes in the 2000’s…).
  • No obstacles, for the first-time people with mobility issues, live in lower demographic locations etc will all compete on a level playing ground.
  1. Travel will accelerate as flexible workers enjoy flexible locations.

It may seem very new to us now in 2023, but make no mistake the demand for remote work opportunities will dominate this decade and it will not take long for workers to realise their power and for the best companies to harness it to attract the best talent!
